We are EcoBarq from UAE University. We are excited to make our debut in the Shell Eco- marathon Asia-Pacific and the Middle East 2025, competing for the first time in the Urban Concept category. Our team is proud to showcase an innovative, sustainable, and energy- efficient Urban Concept car, powered by a cutting-edge internal combustion engine. Through this project, we aim to push the boundaries of energy efficiency and inspire the future of sustainable transportation.

About the Team

We are ECO-BARQ, a passionate team of 20 students from the United Arab Emirates University (UAEU), proudly representing a mix of talents from Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, and Business. Each of us brings something unique to the table, making teamwork our greatest strength as we collaborate to turn ideas into reality!

The Shell Eco-marathon is a global competition where students design, build, and test energy-efficient vehicles, aiming to go the farthest with the least energy. Divided into two categories— Prototype for futuristic designs and Urban Concept for real-world vehicles—it’s a platform for innovation, teamwork, and tackling energy challenges. For us, Eco Barq, it’s more than a competition; it’s our chance to showcase creativity, sustainability, and engineering skills on an international stage, driving toward a smarter and greener future!

Our chassis is crafted with steel and aluminum for optimal strength-to-weight ratio, while the body is designed using carbon fiber to further reduce weight without compromising durability!

Aerodynamics

With a sleek and streamlined shape, we've achieved a drag coefficient of 0.155, ensuring minimal air resistance for maximum efficiency.

Optimized Systems

From refining the gear ratio for better engine performance to researching low rolling resistance wheels, every detail is engineered to reduce energy loss!

Sustainable Engineering

Each component is carefully selected to align with our mission of creating a practical, fuel-efficient vehicle powered by an internal combustion engine.
